„Let s go Fehmarn!“
Island, city' and maritime idyll - the special Baltic Sea island
With 185 km2, it is the only Baltic island of Schleswig-Holstein connected to the mainland of the Peninsula Wagrien in the Kiel Bay via the well-known Fehmarn-Sund Bridge. Already on the different coastal forms you can see the variety of landscapes around the green island country. The north coast of the Baltic Sea island is characterized by a dune landscape, the west coast of natural beaches. The east coast has an imposing cliff with rocky beaches, in the south with the southern beach at Castle Depth and the Wulfener Hals lie the whitest sandy beaches of the island. Every corner on Fehmarn has its special charms and lovers.
On the beautiful, white sandy beaches and sandbanks in front of the Wulfener Hals, a Mediterranean flair quickly emerges and the additional cliff with natural beach completes the beach landscape.
The centre of Fehmarn is the small, lively island capital Of Burg with its cosy old town. With the still old cobblestones, beautiful brick buildings and half-timbered houses as well as many small, owner-managed shops, which have already given way to the big chains elsewhere, an authentic shopping experience awaits you.
Maritime idyll is found along the entire 78 km coastline around Fehmarn and of course with the large ferries in the northern Baltic Sea port of Puttgarden, the "gateway to Denmark". Here, for example, it is worthwhile. Excursions to the Knuthenborg Safari Park, the Bonbonland Amusement Park or the seat of the Danish royal family in the capital Copenhagen.

In the port of Burgstaaken, the Submarine Museum invites you to get to know the narrow underwater world. The submarine was from the German Navy and was used as a target boat.
